Netscape.com — Known initially for it’s web browser, Netscape.com lost the “browser war” with Microsoft’s Internet Explorer nearly five years ago. Since then, Netscape has reinvented itself as a site that’s a repository of information, from news, books, health, science and technology to pets, real estate, sports, travel and shopping. What differentiates this site from some of it’s competitors is how the news is gathered. Users and readers nominate stories from other news agencies around the globe, providing direct links to the news articles and brief synopsis’s on the Netscape site. Other readers then vote on how relevant that article is, with articles receiving the most votes collecting towards the top of the page.
