With Fifty-four million Americans with some sort of disability, AssistiveMedia.org fills a much needed void. Using the internet as a means of inexpensive delivery, they produce and distribute high-quality spoken-word recordings of short-subject literary works for people who can’t ordinarily read these materials. Using a talented volunteer pool of voice talent, they provide podcasts of hundreds of magazine articles, short stories and selections from anthologies, focusing on copyright-cleared material from mainstream periodicals and independent writers.
